Nonprofit community music school in Brookline whose summer term is built from workshops, intensives and short classes rather than a full-day camp. Youth workshops include a Chamber Music Festival for ages 9-17, JazzLab for ages 10-18 and a Summer Flute Institute for ages 10 through adult; skill classes include Be Your Own Band, Record an Album and Intro to Percussion for ages 6 and up. Younger children have age-banded classes - Music Play (0-3), Musical Adventures (3-4), Move Sing Drum! (4-5), Piano Safari and Sing Like a Star (4-6), Instrument Discovery (5-6) and Meet the Instruments and Vocal Discovery (6-9). Private lessons run through the summer and the school publishes a tuition-assistance program.

I am extremely happy that I decided to begin lessons here for $91 for 45 minutes, which is enough time for an intermediate to advanced student to acquire a great lesson and a lot of knowledge. I believe that they offer lessons for many other instruments as well, and many of their adult students get involved within their orchestra. I am very much looking forward to attending regularly and would recommend this school to any other musician looking to improve their technique.
