Broadway Theater Workshops runs musical theatre camps, classes and productions for students in grades 3-12 at the Inserra Theatre on the St. Joseph Regional High School campus in Montvale. Its Senior Theater Camp is a two-week daytime camp taught by Broadway artists, with campers split into age-appropriate groups to learn the fundamentals of musical theater. The company also stages full productions in summer (grades 7-12), fall (grades 3-12) and spring (grades 3-8), and offers private voice, acting and dance lessons.

This was the first time my 13 year old daughter has participated in BTW and honestly, I forced her to sign up. She is a socially nervous teen, anxious in large groups, and struggles to get out of her comfort zone but I saw her shine in her school’s theatre program the past two years and I just had a feeling about this camp. I knew I made the right choice when I received an email a month from the start date that started with, “We know there are many nervous students out there.” I felt like you were talking directly to my kid! Starting day one, you successfully created a safe space for the children to build friendships and feel comfortable exploring the world of theatre. She was so nervous the first morning but when I picked her up she said, “It was amazing! I love it!” The instructors and counselors were top notch. My daughter felt comfortable to participate to her fullest in every workshop; whether it was choreography, mock auditions, or a private vocal lesson. The Musical Revue last night was icing on the cake. It was well organized, moved along quickly, and highlighted each group while giving many different students a chance to shine. The talent on that stage was incredible and I have no doubt the instruction they received these past two weeks elevated all their abilities. My daughter had a solo in Poor Unfortunate Souls and I have never seen her perform like she did last night. I did not know she had that in her! I am so proud! Thank you for everything you have done for my daughter these past two weeks. This experience was one we will talk about for weeks to come and we are already looking forward to next summer.
