The Bourne Braves, a Cape Cod Baseball League team, run summer youth baseball clinics at Doran Park taught by their own collegiate players and assistant coaches. Two tracks are offered: an introduction to baseball for ages 5-12 (split into 5-8 and 9-12 subgroups) and an advanced clinic for experienced players ages 12-15, each running four mornings a week from 9:00-11:30 a.m. across four weeks from late June. Clinics cost $95 per week ($125 for the advanced track), and financial aid is available for special circumstances.

★★★★★Kevin GrienerMy second favorite field in the western division, Doran Park at Upper Cape Tech is a fine place to catch a game. As I write this, they're doing construction in the area behind the press box, but that won't affect your experience. The unnecessarily thick posts that hold up the screen behind home plate, however, will interfere with your view. That said, the field is kept immaculately, and is a decent size. A Fenwayesque right field sees the foul pole just 300' from home plate, but just a few degrees off the line the distance to the fence jumps to 360'. Lots of parking. The locals sit on the third base side, on a multi-tiered hill. You'll need to bring a chair if you want to cheer on the home team. The first base side, however, has two sets of bleachers for visiting fans, although the set down the line (i.e., away from the posts) is, well, old- fashioned, to put it nicely. The field's location just on the Cape side of the Bourne bridge means it's a great way to begin or end your trip. All games start at 6 pm.
