The Ted Williams / Steve Ferroli Baseball Camp is a baseball-only day camp at 171 Reed Street in Hanson, now in its 44th year and directed by Steve Ferroli, whom Ted Williams named as the leading teacher of his Science of Hitting method. Campers ages 5-15 learn individual skills, team plays and the rules through lectures, individual attention, practices and at least one game a day, all played by Ted Williams League rules and field dimensions; a documented level-testing system carries each camper's progress from session to session and year to year. Sessions are designed as two-week blocks running late June through July, ages 5-7 attend half days 8:30am to 11:30am and ages 8-15 attend full days 8:30am to 4:00pm, with 8- and 9-year-olds able to choose either. The camp caps enrollment at 24 players per level, operates as a day camp only, and offers family and returning-camper discounts.
