Powered by GoogleWe love the outdoor pool and splash pad. It is a beautiful environment with kind and respectful lifeguards.
I’ve had a mixed experience with this YMCA location’s child watch program. I bring my child so I can work out, and while I appreciate that the service is offered, the staffing at this particular location seems unprepared to handle the number and energy level of kids. On multiple occasions, I’ve been called down to pick up my son simply for being “loud,” which is honestly expected behavior in a room full of children. Instead of managing the situation—redirecting him, having him take a short break, or using basic behavior guidance—the staff seems to escalate quickly by calling parents. I don’t run into this issue at other YMCA locations, where staff appear more experienced and better equipped to manage kids in a group setting. I’d love to see improved training or more experienced staff here so parents can actually rely on the service as intended.
By far the cleanest and most accessible Y in the area. The schottland ymca and the penfield one are nice on the outside, but have next to no accessibility in the locker rooms. Which doesn’t make sense, as they are the newest builds. This location has spacious handicap designated showers with grab bars, shower chairs, and the space needed for a wheelchair. There are several showers as well, as compared to the other two locations. This location is a lot less busy than all other locations in the area, so it’s nicer that way. My only complaint is that it closes too early on the weekend. It should be open until 6pm on Saturday just like the big locations. It’s also sad that the slide at the pool was removed. They’re so fun for the kids.
Friendly, casual gym. Staff is nice and helpful. The place is clean. They offer fun dinners and celebrations. I never feel like I need to "dress" to attend this y. Comfort is key.
i love the senior swimming classes taught by Mary. She is an amazing trainer and I enjoy going on Tuesday for back to back classes with her. The lifeguard Mike is an awesome leader in keeping participants safe not only in the pool but in the sauna and hot tube as well. I love access to the family changing area as well. specifically love the shower set up.
