Where do I begin. My husband and I moved to Pittsboro from FL with our nonverbal autistic 6 year old. We don’t have any family to help us so being able to send our son here for one week made a huge difference in our lives and his. Upon entering the camp my son was visibly excited, this rarely happens! The way the camp is layed out is super cool and honestly so exciting for a sensory seeker like my son. We’ve never been able to drop him off somewhere and feel relaxed and to know everyone there understands autism is an amazing feeling, it honestly brings me to tears knowing that this camp exists. Thank you everyone for being so awesome, it gives me hope knowing there are great people in this world who want to help others. This place makes a difference.

An absolutely wonderful escape from commercialized society and a trip into nature. The culture of shared community is one grounded in respect for the belief that we are all worthy to dwell in a space designed with people of all abilities in mind. Disability is natural, so there are no special accommodations needed to make visitors stay tolerable. Camp Royall is designed with children like my Mystic in mind so that he and all those that love him can share in his growth and development as he becomes acclimated into living in a diverse society. Thank you forever Camp Royall for supporting and helping me develop life skills for Mystic. I am forever grateful. I am forever thankful. I am Mama Kim.

I am thrilled that this place exists for children like my son. I hope to be able to send him at some point. If you are reading this, know that contributing to local autism societies makes this possible for families. Well worth the investment
