Ann Arbor YMCA
Private
The Ann Arbor YMCA runs a set of summer camps rather than a single program. Camp Treetown is its full-day day camp for ages 5-17; Camp Greenhills serves ages 5-13; Camp Birkett is a traditional day camp on Silver Lake in Pinckney; Camp New Heights offers theme-based day camp programming out of Ypsilanti; and Camp AGQ is a traditional overnight camp for ages 8-16. Together the programs cover children from kindergarten through high school age.
The practical details
We list only what the camp itself publishes, and programs change — dates, prices, ages and availability can all move after we check. Confirm the details on the camp’s own website and contact Ann Arbor YMCA directly before you register or pay. Last checked August 2026.

Powered by GoogleI went to swim on Thursday night and put my eyeglasses on the pool bench right beside my bag. When I was done swimming and found my glasses were missing. Brand new glasses bought two weeks ago. I have a very high prescription and can’t see a single object without glasses. I immediately reported to the manager and she told me to review the camera recording and get back to me the next morning. But I have not heard back after two days. I called and was told the camera recording can only be reviewed during work day and we have to wait until next Monday. Luckily on that day my swim goggles have a close prescription and I ended up wearing my swim goggles to get back home. Now I am living my life without working eyeglasses for 3 days and waiting for my new glasses to arrive hopefully in a week. I understand that I am responsible for my properties missing or stolen and I also understand that the manager is busy that reviewing the recording is the last thing they need to worry given their busy schedule.
Downgrading my review to 1 star due to the YMCA’s cancellation policy and handling of my account. My signed cancellation form stated that April 30th was my last day of membership. However, the YMCA still charged me for the month of May due to an internal policy that was not disclosed during the cancellation process or included on the cancellation form, and they refused to refund the charge. $70/month is reasonable for what this gym offers, but several staff practices make the experience frustrating. The facility is kept uncomfortably warm. More concerning is how closing is handled: fans are turned off 30 minutes before close, and lights are shut off exactly 10 minutes before closing while members are still actively working out. There are also frequent closing announcements (around five), which make the early shutdown of lights and airflow feel unnecessary and disruptive. This creates the impression that members are being inconvenienced and pushed out well before the stated closing time. Management should reconsider temperature control and allow members to use the facility fully until closing time, without reducing lighting or airflow.
Always dirty and consistently unpleasant smelling. The locker rooms reek (they were cleaned once, but within a week the odor was back), the stairwells are filthy, and the floors are visibly grimy. Roughly a third of the machines seem to be broken at any given time, often for weeks. The swimming schedule is another mess. Hours change arbitrarily, with no notice to members. Overall, this is one of the most disappointing and poorly managed branches I have encountered.
I’ve been a member of this y for many years. I love how it gives back to the community. Most of the instructors are great. This specific y itself though is very poorly organized, especially the aquatics department. The pool is a bit nasty as are the drinking fountains. Looking forward to the day when this y has more capable management that can handle constructive feedback.
I personally love the staff. The programs dedicated to the community are amazing, and to top that, the building is also a extremely new, high quality, modern building. The membership prices are high but definitely worth the pay!
