A nice little park for children. They have a tennis court and golf range.

When I grew up, beechwood’s was the place to go for great hoop runs, now the new staff is almost against you playing basketball. They make it hard for you to get on the court and they wonder why the popularity has went down over the years. There is no reason that the hawk chargers $14 for open gym yet beechwood’s only charges $3 and beechwood’s is completely empty while the hawk is packed daily. It’s simply the staff making it challenging! Very rude and very dismissive of young Children that want to play basketball.

The heat in the building is always set extremy high (yes they have NO AC in the Gym! During the summer months the building is always over 85 degrees inside. Some Summer days, it's hotter inside the building than outside in the sunshine! On top of that they won't let you open a gym door to cool off. The water fountains barely work, so bring your own water. The staff find any excuse possible to close for the day. When the building is closed for the day, there's never any advanced notice. I drove there 4 times in the summer only to be surprised, because the building was closed without notice even though the sign outside says open. The gym, showers, bathrooms, etc. are first rate. The facility has such great potential, but unfortunately it appears to be managed by amateurs who don't know how to run an activity center.

Stopped in to ask about programs, to view an art installation since I'm participating in the Southfield Library's scavenger hunt and to use the restroom. The ladies at the front desk were super nice and helpful. The mentioned a few available programs, pointed out the art mural on the wall and pointed me in the direction of the restrooms. Thanks so much, ladies!
