After a couple of months in the basketball and volleyball programs, we decided to withdraw our children. Our initial impression was very positive, and our kids genuinely enjoyed participating at first. Over time, however, we experienced some challenges that made it difficult for us to continue. Basketball practices occasionally felt disorganized, with instances where the coach arrived late or was unavailable, and parents stepped in to help supervise until practice could begin. We also encountered difficulties with scheduling in the volleyball program. When we approached the head coach to discuss a conflict with our daughter’s swim practice, the only option offered was to move her to a lower team level due to limited availability. We temporarily withdrew her and followed the instructions given for the next season, including submitting her availability in writing on the registration form. Unfortunately, she was later placed on a team with the same scheduling conflict. Additionally, communication across the organization was inconsistent. At times, the front desk and coaching staff were unable to provide clear or complete information regarding schedules and program details, which led to some frustration. While this program may be a good fit for some families, it ultimately was not the right fit for ours. We hope this feedback helps improve communication and coordination moving forward.

I am writing to formally express my concerns regarding the AVC-A (Amerisports Volleyball Club Academy) tryout process during its inaugural year. My child registered and I paid for both tryout days with the understanding that players would be evaluated fairly across both sessions. Unfortunately, Amerisports changed the dates and times at the last minute, which caused a conflict that I did communicate to the facility. Despite this, my child attended the second tryout day expecting an honest opportunity to be evaluated. We later learned that Coach had already offered positions to players on day one—without requiring those players to return or comparing them against athletes from day two. My child was then told that the position she was trying out for had already been filled before she ever stepped onto the court. This meant she never had a real opportunity to earn a spot. If roster decisions had effectively been made after the first tryout, this should have been clearly communicated. There was no transparency regarding which positions were still available or whether day two athletes were truly being considered. Allowing my child to participate under these circumstances raised false expectations, wasted time and money, and ultimately caused significant emotional disappointment. For a newly established academy, fairness and transparency should be a priority. Currently, Amerisports’ website does not disclose that roster spots may be filled after the first tryout day, nor does it explain how evaluations are handled across multiple sessions. Based on our experience, the process was neither fair nor clearly communicated. I strongly encourage Amerisports to review and revise its tryout policies, website language, and communication practices to ensure all athletes are given an equal and honest opportunity moving forward.

This place has no business hosting a large volleyball tournament or any sports tournament for that matter. Not even close to enough parking to handle the Winter Rumble Volleyball tournament today. 12 courts with 3-4 teams per court and 10-12 players per team plus spectators. DO THE MATH guys, you don't have sufficient parking! Stop hosting events like this or arrange a shuttle service. It's irresponsible and many people received parking violations. No need to provide a response unless you plan on paying my parking ticket.

The parking at this place is absolutely ridiculous. People parking in fire-lanes, making spots throughout the property. The city of Rockwall should require establishments like this one to provide ample parking for the events they hold here. At a tournament there will be a minimum of around 432 cars if you average the players. If other family comes to support the team, there could easily be 600+. This place is a hazard to the spectators, the fire marshal would have a hay day. For the amount of money that parents spend on this is ridiculous to not hold these venues responsible. I saw the overflow parking but the “shuttle service” couldn’t move people fast enough. 2/16/2025 ***UPDATE*** Parking is still horrible even after it appears they expanded the parking. The owners should step it up and actually fix the issue. The cars in the fire lane is unacceptable. The amount of money places like these generate you would think they would put back into the property. This year there were all kinds of holes in the Sheetrock inside.
