Our daughter attended Camp Merrowvista in New Hampshire for their very first overnight camp experience, and it exceeded every expectation we had. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed into a warm, inclusive community. The energy of the staff instantly eased the jitters. What stood out most was the incredible growth we saw in her confidence and independence. Trying new activities, stepping outside of her comfort zone, and navigating camp life on her own gave her a sense of self-assurance we hadn’t seen before. She came home more resilient, self-reliant, and eager to take on new challenges. The counselors were truly exceptional—kind, attentive, and inspiring role models. Our daughter spoke about them with genuine admiration, sharing stories of how supported and encouraged she felt every day. It was clear the staff created an environment where kids feel safe to be themselves while also pushing them to grow. Camp Merrowvista also offered so many new learning experiences, from outdoor adventures to creative and team-building activities. Every day brought something different, and our daughter loved having the chance to explore new interests and skills.

Merrowvista is a home for our family. Our family has been so fortunate to have Merrowvista summer programs provide a safe and welcoming environment for our daughters to grow and evolve since they were young. Traditions started decades ago when their father was a camper. We have spent volunteer weekends and reunions and Spark retreats at Merrowvista- always eager to return to a place that is a second home. Many friends have joined them at camp and have returned year to year. It is a place we will always return to and recommend its programs to all our family, friends and community.

Wonderful experience for the kids. The staff did a great job connecting with the students. They provided a safe way for all ability levels to expand confidence and their comfort zones. The food was very good.

This first 1-week overnight camp for my daughter (summer between 3rd and 4th grade) was amazing. They had a horrible weather week and yet the experience was still transformative for my girl who can be sky and slow to warm up (once she is, she is very extroverted.) At the end the parents are invited to a closing ceremony that is inspiring and demonstrates the values and experience of your child’s camp experience. Some helpful details: -You can request friends pairing up in cabins. -The kids said the food was wonderful with a wide ranging selection of very tasty and healthy food options—the staff in the kitchen are wonderful. -There are high standards for counselors who they train well to motivate and inspire your children. -Write all your letters before drop off and then you can leave them in the office by date and your child will get a letter every day! -We bought and brought mosquito netting but I am not sure we will both. The cabins have screens and it did not seem to be an issue. -No aerosol can allowed so stock up on bug spray and sunscreen with a squirt top or lotion.

I used to go as a camper, and both of my daughters go. everybody is so respectful, kind, and willing to help you. the food is great, the trips are challenging yet fun, and the counselors are beyond kind and helpful, and the campers are accepting. there are activities all day for the campers, and for the kids on trips they are in the best hands from their counselors. definitely a 5 star camp; I'd 100% recommend it!
