Alameda Community Sailing Center · Private
Alameda Community Sailing Center runs summer sailing camps on San Francisco Bay for ages 7 to 16, grouping sailors by age and experience across its Discover, Seasoned, Feva, Teen and Zippy levels. Campers learn rigging, launching, boat handling, overboard recovery, sail trim and racing skills in Sail Cubes, RS Fevas and Club Flying Juniors, mixed with shore-side STEM activities, team-building games and all-day adventure sails to destinations such as Treasure Island. Camps run Monday through Friday on staggered schedules between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., with younger and newer sailors starting earliest; extended care is available 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for an hourly fee. The nonprofit awards more than $20,000 in need-based scholarships each year and about 20% of its youth sailors attend on scholarship.

Powered by GoogleI love ACSC — staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and director Emily is the best. She fosters a warm, personable environment that makes the community special.
Have been working and sailing here for a few years. Great group of staff and volunteers, and probably the most fun sailing summer camp I have ever been a part of. Not just sailing, but lots of STEM, leadership training, and arts and crafts. They've even got a session just for girls in the beginning of the summer. Adult lessons too. "Open Sail Saturdays" help anyone who took lessons get some practice in. Very protected waters, super safe, and a great place for a kid to be a kid.
I've never had so much fun learning in my entire life. Instructors are awesome. Location is accessible but challenging.
Rachel and Bernard were amazing teachers! My wife an I were sailing like pros in 2 days! Highly recommended for anyone that is interested in getting on the water!
My daughter enjoyed everyday of camp and learned how to sail well! Instructors are very knowledgeable and kind with the kids! Looking forward to more summer camps in the future!
