The 12th Avenue Recreation Center, operated by the City of Norman Parks and Recreation, runs a youth summer day camp for children who have completed Kindergarten through 5th grade. Campers take part in sports, arts, team-building and outdoor activities plus field trips around the metro, and must bring their own lunch. The camp is American Camp Association certified.

★Amanda ConwayThis was our second year renting the basketball court and party room for my son's birthday. Last year was a good experience for what it is. This year however we were very disappointed. There was no A/C running when we arrived. We were told the air conditioner is on a timer and wouldn't come one till later. So all our guests were extremely hot and uncomfortable. Especially after playing basketball. The second thing was there was a young girl employee that was there to open the facility and was there for the duration of our rental. She had short shorts on that exposed a big portion of her butt checks. Our event was a young boys birthday party with kids running around. I was embarrassed. We will be choosing a different basketball court next year.

★Caitlin UlibarriThe basketball league here is terrible. My fiancée was hesitant to play here again and he should’ve trusted his instinct. The refs here suck and will let their favorite teams shove and throw elbows all they want and call every little foul on the opposing team. Apparently favoritism rules over fairness here. If you want a good basketball league, go to the station or even the lighthouse, they’re at least fair in their calls. We WILL NOT be returning here and I hope that no one else wastes their money here. If you want to play a basketball league, take your money elsewhere.

Recently they fitted the main gym with AC making it more comfortable for the group. All the staff seem to care and get involved. Thanks again.
