Stopped in from our travels to get a good, hot, $2 shower. It was great! Private shower too unlike the other Y in this nice town. Angie & Mel, thank you for being so friendly and helpful. You're the best!

My daughter has attended for 2 years before kindergarten and has made the best memories. The director, Miss Cook is so involved in every classroom every day, all of the children just adore her. She’s incredibly responsive, answering email inquiries almost always within an hour or two (which is wonderful for the anxious-phone callers who prefer texting/emailing about not so important/urgent things). Every classroom goes over to the main YMCA once a week for swim lessons which is such an awesome perk to the program. Every week I learn something new in the form of fun facts she shares in the backseat on the drive home, and it’s great to see her excited about learning new things. The arts and crafts they come home with are thoughtfully planned and precious - warning, makes it hard to throw away even after time has passed, be prepared for lots of art displayed in your home 😂 The school is great with communicating last minute reminders (you’ll get a text the night before swim to wear a swimsuit in the morning, texts throughout the day with weather related updates when relevant, reminders about school events, etc), never giving you a chance to forget about something or be confused. Lastly, as the mother of one of the pickiest eaters on the planet, one of my absolutely favorite things about the teachers in her classroom is how they handle lunchtime. They encourage the children to eat the healthier portions of lunch first (their sandwich/main dish, fruit/veggies) and the only leftovers she occasionally comes home with are snack-like foods or a dessert. We’re working hard on finishing our meals without complaining or whining at home, but I’m glad that on school days I can be sure she’s eating a full serving of protein and fruits/veggies. I’m very grateful my daughter had the opportunity to attend the YMCA’s Ark program, their compassionate teaching style has contributed extensively to her disposition, shaping and instilling good morals.
