I like how big this place is and the fitness area is really nice. I'm glad the hot tub is bigger here. Parents later at night like to bring their kids into the tub for some reason. You'll see adults waiting to get in sometimes. It gets really loud during that time but it's normal given that kids love the pool and its right there next to it. I don't really appreciate how mom's let their kids run around in the women's lockeroom, making it hard to get around sometimes in the locker room. (Parental issue). It's a nice big rec center, the lobby is nice and so are the people.

We paid $400 to rent a party room at the Westminster Rec Center for my grandson’s birthday, and the experience was disappointing from start to finish. We arrived early hoping to set up, and although the room was empty with no parties before us, we were told we couldn’t go in at all—not even to use a cart to bring in supplies—until exactly 5 minutes before our scheduled time. That already put us behind and added unnecessary stress. Once we were finally allowed in, there was no welcome or guidance—just a lifeguard coming in immediately to remind us we had to be out right at 1:00 pm. We were already aware of our time slot, so the approach felt cold and uninviting. Throughout the party, staff made the experience uncomfortable. A manager stood watching us through the window for extended periods, seemingly looking for issues. Security approached us twice, and we were told we couldn’t eat outside—even though other families nearby were clearly eating pizza and watermelon without being addressed at all. The inconsistency was frustrating and unfair. For $200 per hour, I expected at the very least a welcoming environment, clear communication, and respectful treatment. Unfortunately, this experience felt overly restrictive and poorly managed. I would not recommend booking a party here.

If I could give negative stars I would. The lifeguards and pool were wonderful. The party room was too expensive at $200 an hour for what it was. The “manager” on duty was awful and rude. They wouldn’t let my nephew (who was hosting a Birthday party for his 1 year old son) setup or use a cart to bring stuff in until 5 minutes before the party started even though there was nobody in the party room or using the carts. It’s a Sunday and the pool wasn’t super busy anyway. During the party not once did anyone working at the rec center come check in to see if everything was going okay. Fine. However, the front desk people were being rude to family and friends before it reached the 25 person limit for the party itself and didn’t bother to simply ask if people were planning to swim and/or pay for themselves - they just started being rude right away. Questioning people, making them feel unwelcome. Even family members who have season passes and weren’t even planning on going into the party room. Then when the party time was up - actually 15 minutes before - we cleaned everything up really good and moved to some picnic tables outside on the patio. The “manager” came to let us know that we couldn’t have food outside. We assumed everyone was done eating and were rounding people up to take the pizzas and cake to the cars. Granted a couple of people still grabbed a piece of pizza here and there but we told them to stop and took the food outside. She sent security outside not once but twice for some weird reason. There were other families and kids eating outside in the same area but apparently it was okay for them. Not once did she sick security on them. They had pizzas, watermelon, etc. some kids not with our party spilled gummies all over the patio area. No security called on them. They were rude and discriminatory. Period. Bittersweet experience. Thank you to the other staff and the lifeguards who were all very nice and doing a great job!!

The pool area is great for kids as well as adults. There's a lazy river, kiddie pool with slides and a huge splash bucket, a sauna and steam room, a jacuzzi and an adult swimming pool. In the summer There's an outdoor splash pad and a long enclosed slide. My granddaughter loves this place

The new trails behind the rec center are awesome. The city has done a lot of work to make that open space more appealing. They succeeded. My family loves going for walks or runs on the trails. The new boardwalk over areas that I think will have water in the future is a cool addition.
