Powered by GooglePosting this here as constructive feedback in the hope it can help improve the experience for lap swimmers. I’ve done lap swim at Waterworks Pasadena around ten times and really appreciate having access to a local lap swim facility. My main concern is weekend lap swim availability. As someone who primarily swims on weekends, I would really appreciate more consistent weekend time slots, and ideally additional lanes when possible. Over the past few months, my weekend reservations have been canceled multiple times — including one cancellation in March and two more over the past two weeks, one of which came as early as two days in advance, which completely messed up my weekend plans. I completely understand that weekends are busy with lessons, events, and other programming, but it has made it difficult to rely on confirmed reservations. I’d also like to share a couple of additional observations. The shower water temperature during early morning sessions can sometimes be quite inconsistent, often running very cold. In addition, I’ve noticed that the chlorine smell can feel quite strong on certain visits. Overall, I do enjoy swimming here and appreciate the facility and staff. I’m sharing this feedback in the hope it can help improve the experience for regular lap swimmers.
My two daughters started swim lessons with Dexter with very little experience and a lot of nervousness around the water. Since working with her, their confidence has grown tremendously.. not only in the pool, but outside of it as well! Dexter has such a gentle, patient, and encouraging teaching style that immediately made my girls feel safe and comfortable. What once felt intimidating to them has become something they genuinely look forward to each week. Their skills have improved so much, but even more importantly, their love for swimming has blossomed! We are incredibly grateful for the positive impact Dexter has had on both of our daughters. She has created a supportive environment where they feel confident, capable, and excited to learn. I highly recommend Dexter to any parent looking for a kind, knowledgeable, and wonderful swim instructor!
1st time here and Emilio are instructor was amazing. My daughter felt safe and enjoyed her time she begged to come back the next day. Highly recommend trying waterworks. Marci showed us around and front staff were beyond nice as we came in.
Coach John has been absolutely amazing with our son, Liam. We've seen incredible progress since he started working with him. John uses techniques and language that are thoughtful, effective, and appropriate for kids with disabilities. His patience, understanding, and positive energy truly set him apart. It’s clear he genuinely cares and brings a high level of professionalism and heart to his work. Honestly, he deserves a raise—staff like him are rare, and we feel so lucky to have him on Liam’s team!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Waterworks Pasadena has been an absolute blessing for our family! My son has been taking swimming classes there for nearly a year, and the progress he's made is remarkable. His instructor, Mia, deserves special recognition—she's patient, encouraging, and truly connects with the children while teaching them important water skills. Last month, we hosted our 6-year-old's birthday party at Waterworks, and it exceeded all expectations! The children were absolutely thrilled, with many leaving and declaring it "the best party ever." The lifeguard staff was exceptional—professional and vigilant while still being playful and engaging with the kids. They created the perfect balance of fun and safety. I must also commend Nancy, our event planner, who made the entire process stress-free. Her helpfulness, timely responses, and attention to detail ensured our party ran smoothly from start to finish. If you're considering swimming lessons or looking for a unique birthday venue that children will love, Waterworks Pasadena is absolutely worth it. The facility is clean, the staff is outstanding, and the memories you'll create are priceless. We couldn't be happier with our experiences here!
