front desk ladies don't know what they are doing , gym is always dirty , Gym must be in a budget that not EVEN Would they turn the AC ON since its gets hot up in the gym / weights area.

The people working deleted my profile. The woman sitting in the back stuck her tongue out at me when I arrived. When I went to a different Y, the staff told me my profile did not exist after visiting the Maywood YMCA.

Love the staff and parents at this place! A great opportunity for kids to do constructive activities and stay busy. My babies take classes here and I am VERY grateful that the Y has committed to offer affordable classes and activities in our community. I've never had any issues with any of the staff they have CONSISTENTLY been kind and respectful to us and I have two of the busiest kids n the Y. ( not bad just busy lol). I could definitely see that if patrons are BEING RUDE, impatient or intolerable they might get it right back and frankly as a parent here I'm glad the staff is standing up for themselves. People who take the opportunity to look down/mistreat or disrespect the staff here who are working and who have helped my kids and i frankly dont need to be here. I'd HIGHLY recommend supporting the Y. It's truly a great opportunity for the youth. They build friendships in their community, stay active and learn. Unfortunately all kids dont have the best home/family/social situation however the Y gives kids a safe haven to go. My only recommendation would be for the teachers to be a little more firm in reinforcing discipline with the kids for the sake of them learning however as a mom I do appreciate how gentle and kind the staff is with them. Shout out to Miss Mieu (dance teacher) & Sensei(karate teacher). Thanks for all ur patience skill and time. It doesnt go unnoticed !! ❤️🙌

Staff answering phone calls are incompetent and provide inaccurate information. I was provided wrong information from multiple staff when registering my child for swimming lessons. They told me registration was only done in person. However, when I showed up on the opening day for registration as soon as they opened, they said all classes were filled with individuals who registered online. When messaging via Instagram they did not respond. Lastly, when I went in to purchase a membership the front desk ladies did not know how to process an application for a new applicant took us almost an hour with 2 staff people. In general, YMCA Staff lacks lots of customer service this arrogant community makes it unappealing and welcoming place for the community.

I can't say by others perspectives, but for mine, it's very smooth. The Gym room is very clean, well organized! First time here and great impressions. This gym is somewhat small compared to the YMCA in East LA. For anyone starting out here as well and don't want to look lost. Enter main door, walk down towards the right side, there's the main desk and card scanning decice. Enter the door and turn to a right, there should be stairs going up and you have arrived! Edit: I have brought it down to 4 stars, reason being is that while coming here for the past few months, the weights aren't organized anymore. To many, this may be a small thing which it is, but to me, that's what makes a gym more valuable, not too many gyms have it organized due to not wanting to since people while just messed it up. But I still will continue going here until the day comes. Edit 2: Currently 1/30/19, I've left this gym and went to another one, nothing wrong with the gym but it got kinda bored and wanted somewhere else where people aren't holding up machines or free weight area sometimes. I'll return someday but for now, onto another location. Also, please bring earphones or something to hear music, trust me, you really will need it to cut off the sound of the other groups and gruntings at times.
