Powered by GoogleAvoid at all costs. Our teen swimmer has been swimming with a different league for 8 years; we decided to try out Waterloo this week because we heard great things & it’s closer. We knew in the first 5 minutes of our 75 minute class that this place was NOT it. Coach John never returned our emails. We showed up to our invitational class, only to be greeted with confused, rushed, rude workers that didn’t know who Coach John was. When we finally got our swimmer to the right person, after an irritated & rude staff interaction brushing us off, Coach John was brusque & muttered his name to our teen, but didn’t ask hers or settle her in. No instructions were given, he acted irritated that he had an additional student. The class was full of wild & uncontrolled 11 year olds with no technique, no proper instruction- it was truly amateur hour. The swimmers spent more time out of the pool getting talked at by Coach John, than they did in the water actually practicing. The 1 hour, 15 minute practice could’ve easily been condensed to 45 minutes if they were actually swimming. There were so many kids in each lane, no rhythm, no proper instruction, no proper technique. Amateur hour. At the end of the messy class, Coach John didn’t walk our swimmer out & talk to us, as we were told in the rushed beginning would happen. If you have a serious swimmer, or value your time & money, try a different swim program. Disappointed is an understatement. An aside - the range of requiring 11 year old children to be in the same bracket as 14 year old high schoolers (regardless of technique or level) is a clear blunder & tonight’s class showed that.
Waterloo is a 10/10 Program! We were first introduced through our child's preschool but continued coming here for years and then joined the swim team. Everyone here is great! We have never felt like just another number but truly a member of the Waterloo family.
My daughter is learning swimming here for past 2 years. The coaches here are so helpful, very responsive. Water here is very hygienic. They teach from infants to all the way adults.
I cannot say enough good things about Waterloo North Austin! We have been coming for six months to their infant swim class and this is such a wonderful gift that they offer the community. My son has loved it every week and the instructor, Alyssa, makes everything fun and exciting for them. He is so comfortable in the water and we will definitely return to Waterloo in the future for more swim lessons or camps!
My nephews really enjoyed the summer camp programs they attended. Water Polo was a huge hit with 10 year old and the younger one enjoyed the crafts he participated in. The counselors were kind, patient, and attentive. Would suggest checking it out.
