Washington Sailing Marina, at 1 Marina Drive on the Potomac River in Alexandria, runs week-long youth sailing camps alongside adult classes and a public marina. Camps meet Monday to Friday, 9:30am to 4pm, and are organised by boat and skill level: Mini Mates for eight-year-olds, Sunfish then Flying Scot on the path to a Skipper rating, Feva and Hobie Getaway, Skippers Club for sailors going out without an instructor aboard, plus windsurfing, big-boat adventures, beginning racing fundamentals and safe power boating. Sessions cover ages 8 to 18 depending on the program and cost about $535 to $720 per week; families booking three or more camps get 10% off the third and every later camp.
