Vida Verde Nature Education provides a free three-day overnight environmental learning experience at 5360 La Honda Rd in San Gregorio for students ages 9-12 who would not otherwise get one. The program is built around five components: a redwood-forest nature hike, goat milking and cheese making, tidepool, beach and marsh exploration, a night hike and trust walk, and an organic farm tour, plus camper-choice blocks such as cooking dinner, an extreme hike, crafts or making ice cream. Groups arrive Tuesday morning and leave Thursday afternoon, cook and clean up together, and share a campfire. It is delivered to visiting school classes during the school year rather than as an open-enrollment summer camp.
