Hidden Villa runs day and overnight summer camp on a working organic farm and wilderness preserve in Los Altos Hills. Campers hike, swim in the pool, do archery and a high ropes course, explore the Adobe Creek watershed, care for farm animals and take part in group reflections built around a social justice curriculum. Day Camp serves youth entering grades K-4 who are at least 5 years old, running 9:00am-4:00pm for $865 a week with free extended care from 8:00am and until 5:00pm; overnight programs run 5 to 12 days for grades 4-12 and range from $800 to $2,200. Most overnight campers sleep outdoors, the youngest in cabins, and the camp states it is completely gender-inclusive and welcomes campers of all genders. Financial aid is available for all youth and families with financial need.

★★J M-AWe had the supervisor (or the team leader?) as our tour guide, and unfortunately she was not friendly at all. Every time we asked questions about the animals, we only received cold, blunt “yes” or “no” answers. The whole tour felt extremely rushed, like she just wanted to get us out the door as quickly as possible. Considering the price our group paid, the experience was definitely not worth it. Other tour guides there appeared much more friendly and engaging, which made the experience even more disappointing.
★★★Kelly LambertsonPOISON OAK warning! Hiked Hostel + Toyon trails today and there is poison oak everywhere. I don't mind so long as it's not IN the trail, it's a natural part of the environment here, but it's growing out into the trail all over. Poison oak to the left of you, poison oak to the right of you, poison oak hanging down over you waiting to smack you in the face or shoulders while you're busy watching your ankles... I am badly allergic so it ruined my enjoyment of the hike. This area is beautiful (plus, cute baby goats!), but I'll sadly have to steer clear until they do some pruning along the trails.
