WilderSkills is a youth outdoor-education program with a Saratoga location among the redwoods that runs summer day camps for kids ages 7-13, grouped roughly 7-9 and 10-13. Sessions run Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., teaching wilderness and survival skills such as fire-by-friction, navigation, knife safety, shelter-building, and first aid, along with storytelling and nature connection. Programs are led by experienced back-country guides and primitive-skills instructors.

★★★★★Shazia AlamI cannot say enough great things about this program and their staff and owner. This was our first time signing up for Wilderskills so we only did one week early in the summer to test the waters. MY SON LOVED IT. He said they actually got to do things vs someone demonstrating and just lecturing. Fast forward to later in the summer and I am also grateful to the staff and owner Dan because we had been signed up for another camp where we ran into some issues and sadly had to leave with one more day left in the week. I reached out to Dan and asked if there was anyway we could sign up for one day, and as a stressed out and frustrated mamma with a little boy who just had his spirit crushed Dan saved the day! Not only did they allow him to join so last minute the camp staff remembered my son from earlier in the summer and gave him such a loving and warm welcome! They are some of the kindest individuals with big hearts who truly care about the kiddos in their care! I cannot recommend this program enough! We will be signing up for way more weeks next summer!
★★Zoe GoldenSadly this camp did not live up to expectations. The program was extremely rigid with lots of time spent sitting around and being bored. My son was made to feel unwelcome and despite multiple attempts to get feedback from management, it has been over a week and still no communication.
