Marine Science Institute · Private
The Marine Science Institute runs week-long marine-science summer day camps for kids in grades K–8, where campers explore San Francisco Bay and Northern California coastal habitats, handle live marine animals, and take a Discovery Voyage aboard the 90-foot research vessel Robert G. Brownlee. Programs are grouped by grade (for example, Plankton Pioneers for entering K–1 and Off-Site Explorers for entering 4th–5th) and led by experienced marine educators at the Redwood City site. A scholarship fund helps make camp accessible.

Powered by GoogleHad a kid birthday party here. Very cool experience petting a shark!
Wonderful group with great experiences for kids! My daughter loves coming here and we're excited for her upcoming birthday party. Thanks, MSI, for helping to inspire future generations to care for our bay!
What a cool place!! I had a birthday party here, the kids loved it! I was not the most organized person trying to plan this event and an absolute tremendous thanks to the educators and owner (?) to being flexible to shift to shark petting. I heard rave reviews from my daughter -“best birthday party ever!” To a parent considering this as a birthday party place, i would strongly encourage going there and seeing the place. It’s helpful to understand the layout and options as well as all the cute baby geese hanging out all over the place so guests are aware of them and take care.
I’m going to say that this is the best field trip I’ve ever been on with Aiden! The kids were divided into groups and went to 4 stations to study marine biology. Everything about the field trip rocked; the information and hands on activities at the stations, the science, the animals and the instructors!
Field Trip School was a great day in Marina Science Institute. The monitors was prepared and encouraged the kids for a lot of activities. Tks.
