I absolutely love the Y. I have to especially give praise to the girls in the daycare. I started coming here in February with my infant. The girls at the daycare have been my village. I don't think I would still have my sanity if I didn't have a place to come clear my head with such wonderful people to keep an eye on my baby. I'm so grateful! I also love the group exercises. I need some direction when working out sometimes and the coaches/instructors are amazing. I really appreciate the pointers they offer when they see me struggling! I can't say enough great things about this place!

Absolutely disappointed in the treatment from the staff at the front desk. First our child was forced to be late since they were not capable of “locating “ him in the computer - child was clearly dressed for the game & have been attending games for more than 3 weeks with no issues. Then for the third week they demand waiver forms that were signed twice now already & were apparently never saved. Then the icing on the cake . Our FAMILY member from Germany wanting to see our child play their game was denied entry. In addition he has a YMCA membership in his country. The staff member literally told us it’s because he could be a sex offender and there is no way for us to know this. We frankly will take business and sports activities elsewhere after this experience since this place is not the YMCA that I grew up in valpo with.

We utilize the pre-k program at the ymca - we have repeatedly been impressed with the staff, level of education the kids are getting and the loving adults in their room. Easy transition into kindergarten. I utilize the track, and love the comradarie among the usual walkers. We have also utilized the summer camp - which is fantastic and the sports which is HIGHLY organized. Its busy but of course a beloved program will be.

Great place for the family or by yourself. Good variety of weights, machines, attachments. Has a good size swimming pool with lanes to swim. They have a hot tub, steam room, sauna. They also have child care if needed.

On Saturday, I visited the YMCA with my young daughter and was charged only $5 per child for entry as a non-member paying a daily pass. We entered without issue and enjoyed our time there. Two days later (Monday), I returned with my daughter intending to pay the same daily pass rate. Instead, I was charged $25 for one adult and one child. When I questioned the significant price increase and explained the prior day’s experience, the staff member responded in an unfriendly and dismissive manner, emphasizing that I lacked a paid membership despite my willingness to pay the daily fee. This inconsistency in pricing from one day to the next, combined with the unkind attitude, left me feeling unwelcome and unfairly treated as a paying non-member. I understand that policies may vary to encourage memberships, but clearer communication about rates (especially for family/parent-child visits) and more courteous customer service would greatly improve the experience for occasional visitors like myself. I value the YMCA’s community mission and hope this feedback helps ensure more consistent and positive interactions for all guests.
