This facility has the WORSE registration department I’ve EVER dealt with. My experience with them was 100% frustrating the entire time. I’m new to Houston and my 3 sons are coming here for the summer, so I started their paperwork back in the end of March to attend day camp while I work. I applied for financial assistance and didn’t get an answer back until May. After making countless calls I quickly noticed that I couldn’t get any real answers unless I took the time to come in person. Because the employees they have answering the phones just tell you anything and don’t really know what they’re talking about. Even got so bad I called and the lady just had me pay my membership fee and said it was towards my kids camp fee’s. That didn’t sound correct so I of course had to go in person to get real answers. May 22nd I came in to register my kids spent which took over an hour to do. Payed registration fee’s and upgraded my membership at the front counter. If someone from the child watch department wasn’t up front and witnessed me finalizing my paperwork they would have never told me I had to go to the other building to do more paperwork. And I must say the child watch department were the only ones who seemed to be on top of their game. But after leaving registration I spent another hour in the child watch building signing and fixing the paperwork registration had just done. It was so bad they even had one of my child’s name misspelled on top of countless other misspelling throughout all 3 of their registrations. It was so bad my name was even misspelled and I’m the owner of the account. But the child watch department was diligent and very helpful so I looked past my previous experience because who I had the problem with was not the ones dealing with my children. And that chapter was behind me “So I Thought” 2days ago a week before came starts I get a phone call from child watch informing me all 3 of my children had been dropped from the program for the entire summer and their spots are already taken. After some investigating the reason was because I owed $5.23 for my membership upgrade. Again this is after I payed $135 at the front counter who didn’t charge me for the upgrade when they did it. I didn’t receive a email or phone call before this happened and of course it was done from the Registration department. This is not even done by an automated system, someone literally did this without having any regard for me or my children who are coming in from Chicago. I don’t have family here in Texas so I had to pivot and call countless facilities who were mostly full because summer is basically here already. By the grace of god I was able to find somewhere else. I was blindsided over $5.23, like literally $5.23 almost cost me over $2000 in travel fee’s not to mention the PTO I had to use. Trotter you guys must do better because your customers who are spending their money so you can have a paycheck have to live with the reckless decisions you make a work. Your employees get to go home to their families while we’re stuck picking up the pieces

This is a great neighborhood YMCA with a good variety of amenities and classes. One of the biggest highlights is the outdoor pool, which is heated during the winter and stays open year-round unless temperatures drop below freezing. The pool also has a 9-foot deep end and a few lap lanes. One downside is there’s very little shade around the pool area. Inside, there are free weights and cardio areas, basketball courts, TRX setup, and several group fitness rooms offering classes like yoga, pilates, Zumba, pickleball, and other fitness programs. The instructors and staff have always been very friendly and welcoming. The men’s and women’s locker rooms also include a steam sauna and hot tub, which are nice amenities. However, the steam saunas are frequently closed or broken for maintenance, so I’d recommend calling ahead to confirm what’s currently working before visiting. Another downside is that the lockers require you to bring your own lock—they do not have built-in combination locks like many newer gyms. They offer memberships for different age groups, and another huge plus is the free covered parking garage. However, during weekday evenings (around 6 p.m.), the garage can get pretty full due to after-work crowds and youth programs. I’ve been a YMCA member for several years and would definitely recommend this location.

I was there at 6 pm on a Friday evening. The work out equipments are clean and plentiful. They're indoor and outdoor pool available. Lots of rooms for different exercises and classes. Very nice!

Love the Swim Classes offered! Instructors were very good at getting kids to pay attention to learn a new skill. They have progress reports and different levels to find the right spot for each kid.

The Group Classes are Awesome! Staff is Friendly. Love this Facility! My favorite classes are all of the Yoga, mat pilates & Les Mills Body classes especially BodyPump. Stretch and Restore is great too!
