I had a very disappointing and frustrating experience with this kids’ robotic academy while seeking help for my daughter’s science project. Initially, Mrs. D quoted us $110 and clearly stated that she was waiving the $50 registration fee since this was a short-term engagement. However, the very next day, she charged $160 to my wife’s credit card, adding the $50 registration fee without informing us beforehand. This was never communicated or agreed to, and charging a customer’s card for additional fees without notice is highly unprofessional. During our visits, my daughter receives no real instruction. Instead, she spent most of the time sitting and waiting while the staff tried to figure out the project themselves. Later, they claimed they spent hours teaching her, which is simply not accurate. Throughout the process, we were given one excuse after another — first it was our laptop supposedly having issues, then our email, and later even my daughter’s iPhone 17 Pro was blamed. For context, the laptop is less than six months old with the latest hardware, and there were absolutely no issues with it outside their environment. What was even more surprising was the attitude from Mrs. D during our first meeting. She confidently stated that the two projects would take less than an hour for her to teach. She also questioned both my daughter’s and my own ability, saying the projects were “a piece of cake” and laughing about how easy they were. For context, my daughter has been in the Gifted and Talented program since 1st grade and regularly works on complex STEM projects. She has also participated in FIRST LEGO League (FLL) competitions and reached the regional level, where I coached her team. Despite claiming the projects were extremely easy, Mrs. D and her staff spent hours and still could not produce a working solution for even one project. We wasted a significant amount of time sitting there with no results, and ultimately they stopped working on the project altogether. Overall, the experience felt extremely unprofessional — from the unexpected charges to the lack of preparation and the constant excuses. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this place to parents looking for serious STEM guidance for their children.

We’ve had a wonderful experience at Kids Robotic Academy. My 2nd-grade daughter looks forward to her weekly sessions and always leaves with a big smile. The program encourages her to work independently, which has noticeably strengthened her problem-solving skills and confidence as she explains the robot she builds each week. While the pricing is on the higher side, it’s been well worth it for the excitement, creativity, and growth we’ve seen in her.

I had the pleasure of enrolling my son in the Kids Robotics Academy through st Thomas episcopal school as well as in the Camps at KRA. I cannot speak highly enough of the experience. The academy provides an engaging and educational environment for kids to explore the world of robotics, coding, and technology. A standout feature of this academy is the exceptional coaching staff. All the coaches are awesome especially Coach Dee and Coach Rana, have been absolutely wonderful. They are not only incredibly knowledgeable but also patient, supportive, and truly passionate about teaching. My son has learned so much under their guidance, from building robots to programming them to perform complex tasks. What really sets Coach Dee and Coach Rana apart is their ability to make challenging concepts fun and accessible for kids, ensuring that learning feels like an exciting adventure. The hands-on approach to teaching is excellent, and each student gets the attention they need. I also appreciate how the academy encourages teamwork and problem-solving, giving kids the confidence to work through challenges independently and collaboratively. I highly recommend the Kids Robotics Academy to any parent looking to introduce their child to the world of robotics. The academy provides a solid foundation in STEM, while Coach Dee and Coach Rana offer the perfect blend of expertise and encouragement. My son looks forward to each class, and I’m thrilled with the progress he has made!
