theCoderSchool is a kids' coding franchise; this is the Berkeley Heights location. Its summer camps run a full week, Monday through Friday, with topics spanning video game development, robotics, Minecraft, Roblox, JavaScript with HTML/CSS and mobile game development. Camps typically start mid-morning and finish early afternoon, and some are offered as half-days; the brand keeps a low ratio of about one coach per six students. Campers are generally ages 7–14, though the range varies by location.

Powered by GoogleI can’t say enough good things about this place. My son always enjoys going to coding class and all the instructors are incredible. The owner, Francis, is amazing and really gets to know each kids strengths. My daughter recently started as well and always looks forward to her class. I’m so happy this place opened in our community.
My son has been attending the camps and weekly sessions for years. He counts down the minutes until he gets to go and always comes home so inspired and excited with his progress and knowledge. We have had nothing but the best experience at The CoderSchool!
My two kids had a blast at summer camp. They especially loved the challenges they created for their counselors and making new friends. This is the best kind of learning! Kudos to the Coder School for creating such a fun, supportive environment.
I always try to find a variety of summer activities for my daughters' weekly camps. Camps that offer fun learning is a plus especially for those extra hot weeks where I rather my kids stay indoors in the extreme heat! The Coder School in Berkeley Heights has been a game-changer. (Pun intended!). Here's what I loved about it: 1. Super Fun Learning: The team has a bevy of games, challenges, and activities to teach coding. My girls were so into it and really proud of the projects they created -- they couldn't wait to show me over dinner. I was really impressed how they were able to explain the lines of code that created the games and projects. 2. Brain Breaks for the Win: Coding can be intense and is screen time, but The Coder School gets it. They also have fun, unplugged activities mixed in to keep the energy up and eyes rested. 3. Proud Kiddo Moments: By the end of the camp, my kids had several working games and projects they were super excited about! Seeing their confidence and coding skills grow was amazing in just one week. 4. Awesome Team: The coaches, instructors, and owners were friendly, patient, and always happy to answer questions. The coaches kept my kids engaged while learning. The owners shared options for my daughters that are 3 years apart. They have a great program that ensured they were both individually challenged but also brought in brain games with a team aspect building up collaboration skills. The Coder School isn't just about coding, even though it's so nice to see both of my girls make programs and games.... it's also about learning through problem solving and playing while sparking a love of creating. My girls can't wait to learn more and I can't recommend them enough.
We're so glad a STEM-focused after-school activity has opened up in Berkeley Heights! We felt that this was a much needed option than the typical sports activities being offered. The location is convenient and their facility is brand new, spacious and clean. The owners are local parents and are so nice and welcoming. Our son just started his classes here but he talks about it all the time! The best part is he's having fun while learning. Can't ask for much more than that.
