The Music Depot School is a music school at Collegeville Station (50 West Third Avenue) offering weekly 45-minute private lessons for ages 6 through adult in piano, guitar, bass, drums, voice, ukulele, brass, woodwinds and strings, both in person and virtually. Group classes serve younger children (Half Notes ages 2-3, Whole Notes ages 4-5, group instrument ages 5-6), and a band program places students ages 7-18 into ensembles by age and ability, alongside drum line, jazz ensemble and Polyrhythmics groups. The school lists summer camps, and expects private students to continue their regular lessons through the summer to retain progress.

Powered by GoogleOur daughter has been taking lessons at The Music Depot for several years now, and we couldn’t be more grateful for her experience, especially working with Mike O’Brien. Mike is an incredible instructor who is patient, encouraging, and genuinely invested in his students. He has a way of building confidence while keeping lessons engaging and fun. Watching our daughter grow not only as a musician but also in her self confidence has been amazing. We highly recommend The Music Depot and especially Mike to any family looking for outstanding music instruction.
Our kids have been taking classes at the Music Depot for years now — Half Notes, Whole Notes, and now Group Drums. They love going every week for classes with Mr. Mike who is the absolute best teacher and is so good with the kids. He is a true rocker and a very effective (and patient!) teacher. Our kids have gotten so into music and are getting better with every session. My son has only done a couple of sessions of drums so far but it’s amazing to see how well he can play. Can’t recommend Mr. Mike and the Music Depot enough — looking forward to more great years ahead!
My son, Shane, attended Music Depot from 2013 until he graduated from high school and left for college just this past summer in 2025. His instructor, Mike O'Brien, has been a mentor and a friend to Shane and encouraged Shane to pursue his passion for the electric bass. Mike suggested that Shane audition for Rhythm & Soul performance group and Shane became the bass player, performing with this amazing group at my public venues around Collegeville Phoenixville. Music Depot is a place where real musicians teach what they love and the youth acquire not only the ability to play instruments and perform, but self-confidence and self-esteem and tenacity to keep striving to be their best. I highly recommend this wonderful family of musicians.
I have been participating in various musical programs from The Music Depot ever since it has opened, and I have been so amazed with how much they have to offer, in every aspect. It is such a comfortable and friendly environment, especially all of the teachers and staff, I would totally recommend becoming part of the Music Depot family to anyone who wants to learn more about playing music/an instrument or even just music in general! They have so much to offer not to mention how the organization is incredibly musically inclined and talented
I didn’t realize learning music could be so fun! Both my girls have taken lessons here since the Half Note class, and it’s been wonderful watching them explore different instruments and discover their favorites from a young age. Mr. Mike is such a caring and kind teacher who encourages kids so positively, and they naturally learn to love and enjoy music through his gentle guidance. The teachers here truly follow each child’s interests instead of sticking to a strict textbook. Kids can choose what they want to learn, and there are plenty of stress-free opportunities to perform and grow at their own pace. Mr. Jai is also a fantastic teacher who makes learning so much fun! I can always hear laughter coming from his class. My girls absolutely love coming here, and it’s the class they look forward to the most each week. This is truly a unique and nurturing music school, and we feel so lucky to be part of it.
