Powered by Googleour 6- and 8-year-olds love it. my 8-year-old really started practicing more when we switch to school of rock from traditional piano lessons. He wants to get all the songs down to impress his band mates. My 6-year-old really likes that he gets to try all the instruments at in his group sessions. Teachers are really fun and knowledgeable - my kids look up to them which also motivates them
School of Rock Hockessin has been life changing for my son. Not only has he leaned learned how to completely shred on guitar and bass (in less than a year), he’s become a lifelong musician. Mr. Mike and all of my son’s instructors have done a great job creating a positive learning environment where he’s always excited for lessons and practice. His School of Rock experience has even given him opportunities to play major venues like the TLA, World Cafe, Live, and the Warped Tour. 5 out of 5 - I recommend to all my friends who have kids (as well as internet strangers reading Google reviews)
If you or your child have a passion for music (or even a growing interest), School of Rock Hockessin is the perfect place to cultivate it. From the moment you walk in, you feel the energy and excitement that permeates the entire school. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and super creative, making it clear that the team is dedicated to not only teaching music but fostering a genuine love for it. The instructors here are top-notch—extremely talented, patient, and incredibly engaging. They manage to balance fun and learning in a way that keeps students motivated and excited to come back every week. Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced musician, they tailor the experience to your needs. It's not just about theory or technique; it's about learning to jam with other musicians, perform on stage, and express yourself through music. The performance-based curriculum is a game changer. Students are not just practicing in isolation; they’re actively working together in a band setting, preparing for gigs, and experiencing the thrill of live performances. This hands-on approach builds confidence, teamwork, and a true understanding of how music comes together in a group. The facility itself is top-tier, with great practice rooms, state-of-the-art instruments, and a comfortable environment that encourages students to explore and experiment. Whether it's guitar, drums, vocals, or keyboards, the equipment is fantastic, and there’s always something exciting happening! In short, School of Rock Hockessin is a phenomenal choice for anyone serious about music. It’s not just a school—it’s a community of passionate musicians, and every lesson feels like an opportunity to grow. Highly recommend it for anyone looking to unlock their musical potential!
Welcoming home for kids to explore music. Builds confidence in a safe environment. Couldn’t be happier with our decision to use School of Rock in Hockessin.
Mike and his staff bring enthusiasm, care, and passion into all their programming and students' education. School of Rock is not new to our family as our son is in his third year at Downingtown, and my daughter is first at Delco (two other great schools) I appreciate how each school builds its own culture and community. This is one of the most excellent schools we have enjoyed spending time in. Everyone is so welcoming and accepting, safety is consistent in each school we have been a member, and the teachers were so cool and down to earth. My kid is staying in Bear, DE with the inlaws for a month this summer and we are excited to join their summer camps! If you are new to any rock instrument or a seasoned vet, they have a program for you to rock out!!!! You have to check it out!
