Also the water is freezing and stingingly chlorinated (according to my child) and many others I overheard. We've also done swim lessons here before and the teachers were rude, inattentive, non accommodating and it was ultimately an enormous waste of time and money. Really wish there was another option in town for non members where a parent doesn't have to pay just to supervise their child.
I personally have been to the Kroc center many times and have had many experiences good and bad, unfortunately I would say most of the recent experiences have been bad. they're establishment is very nice I have nothing bad to say about that its very clean very well kept. I would say the price is fair considering a day pass means an entire day. I see a lot of reviews on here talking about how its so expensive but considering you can do anything they have there and technically you can do it all from open to close (AN ENTIER DAY). I dont think the price is as bad as people on here are making it out to be. sadly I would say that's it for the pros now to the cons. I think the biggest problem is the staff, it is an entirely mixed bag on whether someone is going to be super nice to you or is going to for no reason whatso ever hate your guts. personally I think the staff there are given way too much power on what they can do and there should be supervisors keeping them in check. first things first it seems like they target specifically young adults to teens when deciding to "enforce rules". also it seems like they just are too lazy to use certain leisure's at the pool that they offer for example I have only ever seen the slide being operated ONCE the entire time I've gone there. last time I went with friends one very nice lady decided to open the slide for everyone and then after about maybe 6 kids (including me and my friend) went on the other employees had her stop. it seems more like they just dont want to get sued and actually have to watch kids and DO THEIR JOB. lately it just seems more like the establishment hires teens/young adults and then when said staff does something out of spite higher ups dont punish them allowing these staff members to have a power trip and enforce made up rules just to ruin other peoples fun. it now feels like more then ever that your just walking on eggshells wondering if what you do next is going to get you yelled at from across the pool. all in all I think people should not come here and support this place. there are much MUCH better places to go and swim for cheaper and without staff targeting you for no reason.
Waiting list to get in the pool is ridiculous! I’ve been here multiple times, there has never been a waiting list. Plus they wanted me to pay to get on the waitlist…. No the heck I’m not what if we decide we don’t want to go in. Also I always bring my daughter here I have never had to pay for myself just her and all of a sudden they started charging. I was being charged for my 5month old. $40 dollars just to swim for a couple of hours! D Decided to go to Wings & Waves Waterpark if I will pay that much I think I’ll make it worth my while. It’s the same price anyways Go to Osborn Aquatic Center $3 for kids and $6 for adults, it’s a drive but it so much better! You can bring outside food. Salem sucks!
Zero stars. Signed my kids up for 3 days of Kroc Camp for Spring Break because the advertisement sounded fun. My children were told right after arrival Monday morning that they were short staffed and wouldn’t get to do as much as was planned that day because of it. They watched FOUR movies that day. The advertisement didn’t talk about letting them watch movies at all. They can do that at home. The staff were complaining that they didn’t want to swim and get their hair wet and they wanted to go home towards the end of the day. I called immediately after work to request a refund for the other two days I had them signed up for. They said I had to come down to do that. So I did. The guy said call in 2-3 days if I hadn’t received my refund. So I called. They said call back in a week. So I did. It wasn’t processed, call back in a week. So I did and they said it was denied cause the info was not accurate. Then transferred me to a vm to get an explanation. When I got a call back they said my kids only watched TWO movies, though my kids can name all four that they watched, 2 of which I don’t let them watch and that they don’t do refunds after camp starts. Beware. Not as advertised and no refunds.
You are wrong. I wasn't applying for a scholarship or anything like that. I was applying for a basic membership to use the pool and jacuzzi. The person at the desk had no clue what kind of documentation I needed to bring in. Just said show me documentation. I don't get why a card wouldn't work. You don't just get those handed to you. I ended up getting a membership at another place that didn't require all this ridiculous paperwork. They gladly accepted my card. Plus the lady that came out refused to help me or show me how to access the online portion. All she said was not our problem it's the server or your phones problem. Take it up with them. The place I went too gladly helped me and made me feel welcomed. This place did the opposite. I'll definitely be reporting them to BBB. I wish they had friendlier people here. Totally made me feel unwelcome and not wanted there. I'll definitely let others know.
