The Discovery Center of the Southern Tier is a hands-on children's museum in Binghamton's Ross Park that runs a state-licensed 8-week summer day camp for children roughly ages 3-10. Campers spend the summer in the museum's interactive exhibits, its award-winning Story Garden, and on hikes through Ross Park. Programming emphasizes play-based learning and social development.

Powered by GoogleFun learning place for kids. So many areas covering variety of okay skills for kids. It's hard to get the kids to leave the center, so we planned our entry a couple hours before closing and that works out pretty good. Staff are professional and helpful. Definitely recommend checking it out with kids.
This place is absolutely perfect for young kids! They had just set up Halloween decorations and it was so cute and themed. Its almost like a big circle with a big playground situation in the middle and a lot of themed areas surrounding the outside. It was extremely easy to navigate. My kids could have spent an entire day here! It was also extremely affordable, which makes it much easier for us to plan another trip back! I also felt that it was very very well thought out from the layout, to the designs, to the decorations. The minor details were absolutely incredible. And it was full of educational elements through play!
Great place for the little ones! Our son had a blast when we visited. Thank you!
Let me just say this. I do not write reviews on places, but I absolutely LOVE Discovery Center! I’ve been going there since I was a kid and I still love going and carrying on the tradition with the new adds to the family. Each time I go they have new things !! I’m now almost 20 years old and still LOVE going..sometimes I think I wanna go more than the kids. It’s so nostalgic for me… prices are amazing!!! Never done a bday party there but they seem so fun! And there’s things close by to eat as well! The store is my favorite thing there! (Last pictures are me and my little sister 🥹)
Very fun and had lots of activities for our growing and learning toddler. Even us adults had our fun. Everything is so well kept which is so hard to find nowadays especially with an interactive museum of sorts. Staff was very friendly and all exhibits are extremely well thought out. The imaginary play is leveled up here as all the details are there. I can’t wait to bring her back each year as she continues to grow and learn.
