Camp Starlight
Private
Traditional co-ed overnight (sleepaway) camp on a 385-acre brother/sister campus with private lakes in Pennsylvania's Endless Mountains, roughly 2.5 hours from New York City. Campers build athletic skills, explore the arts, enjoy the private lake, and take part in an outdoor adventure program featuring a high and low challenge course, archery, fire building, hiking and overnight camping. A full-summer program with a 3:1 staff-to-camper ratio and bunks of 8-10 campers, running for more than 70 years.

Powered by GoogleThis camp treats Polynesian culture as an on-demand novelty act rather than a living heritage. Staff and participants from indigenous backgrounds are expected to be "on-call performers," reduced to a sideshow for entertainment. The most alarming part is that this demand came directly from one of the CEOs, who completely failed to understand why this is exploitative. To put it into perspective: imagine inviting outsiders into a sacred space, demanding they perform a sensitive Jewish ritual, and then clapping, cheering, and laughing with delight as if it were a circus act. It would be recognized instantly as deeply offensive, entitlement-driven, and blind to the sacred nature of tradition. Yet, this CEO felt entirely comfortable treating Polynesian culture with that exact level of disrespect. A camp cannot claim to provide an enriching or inclusive environment when its top leadership is this blind to cultural exploitation and double standards. Highly disappointing.
camp starlight is one of the most special places I’ve ever experienced. It truly is such a welcoming environment for everyone with an infectious spirit. I spent my summer of 2025 as a counsellor and can’t wait to be back in the summer of 2026!!
Truly the most magical summer home. Came from Australia and spent summer 2025 here and cannot wait to return for summer 2026! Could not recommend Starlight more!
Who would have guessed they make a pretty laidback wedding venue after summer camp is over. Housing and food was typical of a summer camp. Bring a air mattress or thick camp pad and some snacks. Staff was incredible and very helpful. The camp itself is beautiful day and night. Despite waking up with a stiff back I had a great time!
i did a summer in 2022, and am returning for 2024, from Australia. Camp starlight is single handling the most amazing thing i’ve ever experienced. Just like the movies. I’ve dreamt of experiencing an american summer my entire life, and starlight was everything and more. I could not recommend this enough.
