Summer of Surf is a surf and beach day camp that buses campers from Pasadena, South Pasadena and La Canada to the ocean Monday through Friday all summer, from early June to late August. Days are spent surfing, boogie-boarding, swimming and playing beach games, with instruction geared to both first-timers and experienced young surfers ages 7 and up.

The instructors are super nice with the kids, they motivate them to do their best, and give them tips and tricks to improve their skills! The camp is active, fund and very friendly! My daughter began attending Zach's camp 3 years ago. She is now 15 and this past summer she became a junior surf instructor and next year she will be one of the surf instructors. I think this camp is a tremendous opportunity for children to learn and as they age up they get to teach other children. The campers get to learn about the ocean in a well supervised program. As the surfers age up they have the opportunity to be trained as instructors themselves which leads to life lessons about responsibility, teamwork, and being leaders. Zach and Summer of Surf deserve ten stars in my book!
★★★★Penny SunWe signed up for a week this year, and on most days the bus leave the Montrose location late. My kid came home on Thursday with huge scars on his back..said the camp counselor wasn‘t paying attention when helping him zipped up his wetsuit, I am not too happy about it. Also keep in mind that they will spend between 3.5-4 hours each day on the bus and only about 2 hours each day surfing/boogie boarding/swimming, if your kid doesn‘t mind the long ride, then this would be a good camp for them. My son loves his surfing instructor though, said he was very nice.

Whether you go one day, one week, or the whole summer it's a guaranteed excellent experience. Zach and his team are wonderful with the kids! The bus transport is my favorite for the convenience.
