Strive To Succeed Sports (STS) runs multi-sport summer day camps in the Bronx and Westchester, with 2026 sessions at St. Francis De Chantal in the East Bronx, PS 24 in Riverdale, and Valhalla High School (open only to Valhalla school-district students). Days focus on sport-specific skills, positions and rules, agility and conditioning, and offensive and defensive work, delivered through small-group instruction and station training with an emphasis on fun and sportsmanship. The East Bronx site adds an extended day from 4-6pm, and the camps are certified by the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. Registration is open and a deposit holds a spot.

Powered by GoogleSTS is a sports rec league which offers Soccer and Flag Football leagues along with basketball camps and summer camps. My sons have participated in their flag football leagues. They have an instructional league for kids under 6. The instructional league is ok, it’s run by parent coaches normally 1-3. Basically it’s one hour and they run football drills the first half and run scrimmages the second half. Depending on the parent coaches it’s hit or miss. Following that there is a 7-9 yr old league, normally 6 teams. My oldest son has played 3 seasons to mix results. The first season was in the fall and he was on a team with a good coach who held practices weekly and parents were involved. The league had no parity there were 2-3 good teams and 3 terrible teams. My sons team made the Championship however the week before the title game police were called at the end of the game due to the fact some parents were threatened by other spectators who stated they were going to get their gun and shoot them after a verbal dispute at the end of the game. This resulted in a big back and forth. The league only has 2 maybe 3 representatives on location and they were a bit overwhelmed and out numbered. Definitely a potentially dangerous situation. The only time we saw the owner was the following week. He showed up the only time that season after the police were called. STS uses a field in the middle of a mental facility. The entrance always features some of the patients walking about. The actual field does not deal well with bad weather. It rained during the week of the title game and the field was a mess. One kid fell bc the field was extremely muddy and had the wind knocked out of him and another kid fell middle of the field in the mud to end the championship game with no one around him. That season was followed by a Spring season. The Spring season had 4 teams and was not at all competitive I would recommend skipping the Spring. My son was on a team that had a volunteer parent coach who never held a practice and of the roster of 10 we averaged 7 players per week. One of the problems with the league is they just assign players to teams and each team has 4 player moves. It’s very easy for your child to be on a team with no QB and that becomes problematic. I recommend to the league to have a skills day for the seasons participants to access who can QB and assign at least 1 QB per team. As far as the player transactions it’s easy for a Coach to fleece other teams who have no idea who the players are. There seems to be 2 consistent coaches in this age group and they know how to game the system to gain an imbalance. I would definitely skip the spring. This brings us to my son’s second fall season. 6 teams 3 with above .500 records 2 of them had only one loss then the other 3 teams all under .500 with only 1 or 2 wins in a 7 game season. I forgot to mention it’s 9 weeks the first 2 are only practice sessions then week 3 starts the season. Biggest issue is the disparity amongst the teams and team participation. My sons team of 10 only averaged 6 players per week and 3 of them had just completed the developmental league so we were at a serious disadvantage. On site there are only 2-3 reps for the league along with the referees. There really are no other flag football leagues in the Bronx so STS gets a decent turnout however it’s not really that competitive. The league cost about $200-$250 depending on when you sign up. It’s a mix bagged imo. My kids participate in baseball and soccer rec leagues they are more competitive and never had the police called and are better staffed.
We love STS!!! We have been with them since 2019 and every year, their Fall/Spring soccer leagues and summer camp is amazing. My son has come to love, respect and appreciate all the directors and coaches. As a parent, I appreciate their hardwork and dedication for all the kids and above all making it a fun and safe place for the kids to grow and be themselves. I would highly recommend this company to anyone of my friends or family!!
My nephew attended STS Sports camp and was the best experience he has ever had! The coaches were extremely humble, friendly and took time to make sure he understood the task in hand. The directors at the camp are wonderful and made my nephew feel welcomed to the program every single morning. To see my nephew smile everyday brings joy to my eyes and I highly recommend STS Sports camp to all families looking for a sports program!
My son has attended STS summer camp for three summers now. He loves it! At camp, he gets exercise, skills training, and socialization. Though he only attends soccer camp, the swimming days are an excellent addition. The staff is friendly and highly involved. As parents, we love the fact that summer soccer camp gives him something to do that he enjoys and somewhere to go for a couple of weeks each summer.
My two sons attended the STS camp in Throggs Neck the past two summers. They had such a wonderful time. They were active all day and each really improved their soccer and basketball skills. I really appreciate how the coaches made each of them feel good about themselves and their efforts. I applaud the directors for acknowledging the kids who behave and addressing immediately any concerns of bad behavior. The directors and coaches were always positive and helped each kid according to their ability. I can't speak more highly about this camp and my boys already look forward to next summer at STS!
