Soccer Without Borders Massachusetts is the state hub of a national nonprofit serving newcomer refugee, asylee and immigrant boys and girls in grades 1 through 12 who live in East Boston and surrounding cities. It runs in-school, after-school, weekend and summer programming that pairs soccer with English-language development, academic support and community building, delivered through year-round TEAM programs and purpose-built leagues across Eastern Massachusetts. Summer programming also extends to cities such as Springfield, where a refugee community camp runs in partnership with Jewish Family Services. All programming is provided free of cost, and the hub reports 100% high school graduation among regular participants.
