Shrewsbury Sailing & Yacht Club at 512 Seawaneka Avenue in Oceanport has been teaching children to sail for over fifty years and runs one of the stronger junior programs in the northeast, having produced national and international champions. Its Junior Sailing Program takes children aged 5-15, whether learning to sail for the first time or improving existing skills, and a separate four-day sailing camp is open to beginners aged 8 and up.

Powered by GoogleAmazing summer camp, good Opti and C420 program, good regatta access. Club is great, beautiful club with an amazing location, good place to keep sailboats and small motorboats. I keep my 14’ aluminum boat there for no charge as a member.
Absolutely fantastic sailing club. They have a great junior program run by very experienced sailors, and everything is well kept on the property. As well, they have the best sunset in town.
Beautiful facility and location. Well managed boat yard and delightful members. I played music for a party here and would recommend looking into membership if you are in to sailing. All ages.
Actually approximately 300 yards north east at the end of portapak there is a tiny river access not well-known on till now perfect for kayaking, canoeing. But you must behave otherwise that will be closed by the local government!s!!!
I love this place. It is a Dingy Club, not a Yacht Club, however. Their youth sailing program has been better, but it is on a rebound. They have adult sailing as well, many regattas and many other opportunities to sail. The social ecosystem and environment is quite nice, as well. There are many friendly people there. I've been to many sailing clubs, yet this just has a special place in my heart. Anyone learning to sail, or anyone who is a strong sailor will fit right into the fabric of the club. You should join if you haven't already.
