Camp Shakespeare is the Shakespeare Theatre Company's summer program for youth ages 6-18, offering one-, two-, and three-week sessions between late June and mid-August at its Penn Quarter (DC) and McLean, VA locations. Younger campers (6-11) explore Shakespeare's stories through creative play, theatre games, and art, while teens (12-18) train in acting, text analysis, and stage combat, each session ending with a performance. Scholarships are available and DC youth campers can add after-care from 3 to 5pm.

Saw Othello! Was fantastic and from our seats it felt like you were apart of the show. The sound, lighting and the performance was exceptional!

No bad seats in this theater! I was in Orchestra East, first row and pleasantly surprised at the amount of leg room I had. View from my seat in the photos. (Saw "Giselle" by the Washington Ballet.)

First time in this wonderfully intimate theater and fell back in love with the arts. From the great downtown location and easy parking to the charming multilevel, cozy seating inside. Bonus, you're downtown surrounded by DCs best restaurants for pre and post show vibes. Guys and Dolls was surprisingly moving, instantly transported to a wild and wicked era in NY with dozens of heartwarming characters brought to life by an amazing cast. Awesome choreography and song production, and a set that does justice to the sinners and soul saviors of that shady time in the big city. Broadway's equal - so close to home. Found my NEW go-to for the performing arts in the capital city!

The Shakespeare Theatre Company, located directly across from the Arena, offers a warm and intimate atmosphere. I saw their production of Merry Wives, an adapted Shakespearean comedy. It was utterly hilarious and thoroughly enjoyable.
