I had a wonderful experience at the Sandbox Theatre in Mamaroneck. It’s a small but very welcoming community theater that really focuses on creativity and supporting young performers. The atmosphere is friendly and family oriented, and you can tell the staff truly care about helping kids build confidence and enjoy the arts

Sandbox Theater (Mamaroneck, NY) is a very special place. More than just a “children’s” theater company that offers classes, camps, and opportunities for young performers, it allows them to follow their passion in a nurturing, supportive, fun, and professional atmosphere. My daughter has been involved for almost ten years. Not only does she have amazing memories that will last a lifetime, but I’ve seen her grow in so many ways. Her confidence, maturity, and work ethic, have developed as much as her abilities to sing, dance, and act. Not only do I get to see her make friends, do what she loves, and learn, I get to see some really amazing performances from incredibly talented young artists. Jason, Dan, Susan, and the whole Sandbox family really understand how kids develop and what they need along the way. They manage to bring out the best with positivity, encouragement, and acceptance while still maintaining high standards. Their formula definitely works, and you see it not only in their amazing productions but in the faces of all the kids, young adults, and families that get to be part of it! ❤️

Great local play. With local talent.

It's a small theater company. Not as fancy as some others, but it is extremely kid friendly! Every kid feels like a star! I have stayed away from other programs because they are too competitive and "industry" like. Sandbox provides a high quality program that develops great performers. My girls love Jason and his personality can bring around the most timid of rising stars. I can't say enough good things. Try it once and you'll know the difference too!

Basically, this is a storefront theater. You are not going to see Broadway quality here. But if you want to support your local theater group and enjoy young kids trying to get into acting, then come here. They try , and, oddly enough, succeed.
