Great place to work out, swim, play pickleball and basketball and walk
This was the most disappointing YMCA experience I’ve ever had. Staff were consistently rude, unprofessional, and showed no courtesy toward parents. The irony was hard to miss: a sign on the wall read, “BE NICE OR LEAVE THANK YOU,” yet the staff consistently behaved in ways that were anything but courteous toward parents. During my child’s swim meet, they cut off entry to the pool area despite many empty bleacher seats and created an unnecessary waiting list. We drove 63 miles to support our child and were made to feel unwelcome. I also saw a mother get harshly reprimanded twice—once for moving a plant so she could see through a window, and again for knocking on the glass to get her son’s attention in a very loud pool area. The staff’s reactions were excessive and unkind. Later, many of us found a separate viewing room with clear windows, but staff never informed anyone about it and continued acting as though parents were doing something wrong simply for trying to watch their children compete. Many parents, including myself, left upset and frustrated. I truly hope management addresses the staff’s behavior and the unwelcoming environment they’ve created.
This has been a dependable gym for the last 20+ years. Very clean and has a great wooded trail behind the complex.
I have been visiting this YMCA on a regular basis for about 5 months now. I usually attend and participate in the weight/gym area as well as the track and CrossFit area on my own. It's very well maintained and clean. I see housekeeping everyday that I'm visiting. The nursery and staff at this location are WONDERFUL with my kiddos ages 1 and 7. It is the same routine group of people and they are able to get to know your little and truly enjoy keeping them. Nursery does have a 2 hour limit on their care and you must remain in the building, which is completely fair. Staff do not do diaper changes (they will overhead page or text you if a diaper needs changing) but they will help the child with a snack or bottle if you provide it. I'm able to get my 2 hours to myself and improve my health thanks to the staff in the nursery. The facility is very clean and if something needs attention, it's usually resolved if you inform the front desk. Front desk staff are very welcoming and friendly. No complaints on this branch at all. I enjoy my time here on a daily basis.
