Sachs Recreation Center is a Deerfield Park District indoor facility on Lake Cook Road that hosts Hot Shots Sports summer camps. Summer Sports and More Camp (ages 3-5) and Summer Total Sports Camp (ages 6-11) run Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 3:30 pm, in one-week sessions, with half-day morning (9:00 am-12:00 pm) and afternoon (12:30-3:30 pm) options at lower cost. Campers work through fundamentals and game play in basketball, floor hockey, flag football, kickball, soccer, t-ball and group games such as capture the flag, and bring their own snack and water bottle. Resident and non-resident rates both apply, so enrollment is open beyond Deerfield.

Nice tennis court, but wouldn’t mind losing the lines for other sports…

I have been coming to Sachs Recreation Center for some time with my children for various activities, and overall we have had a great experience. The facility offers a variety of programs, and it has generally been a positive place for our family. One thing I would not recommend is swimming for very young children due to the water temperature. During our visit, the water was extremely cold—cold enough that my children’s mouths turned blue, and many families ended up leaving the pool early because it was simply too much for little ones. My bigger concern, however, was an interaction with a staff member. A complaint was lodged against me after I took my son to the closest bathroom during an emergency. I understand that I was in the wrong, and I was receptive when approached about it. Unfortunately, the staff member continued to confront and question me about how and why I would think it was acceptable to use that bathroom. When I asked for his name, he refused to provide it and continued to engage with me in a way that felt harassing. The situation improved significantly when his manager, Emily, became involved. Emily was wonderful to work with—calm, professional, and genuinely caring about both the facility and its members. Her response and support are the reason I am giving Sachs Recreation Center four stars. Overall, it is a solid facility with great potential, and with more consistent staff professionalism, it could be an even better experience for families.

I use the swimming pool and it would really help if they had a machine to wring your bathing suits out. instead they give you plastic bags and ask them us to reuse them. why not get a bathing suit wringer machine and then you can get rid of all the bags and be Echo friendly! I also understand that the men's pool bathroom has a bathing suit ringer? play the favoritism?

A complete gum that offers way more. From weight training to indoor basketball court even a small swimming pool this place has it all. Professional receptionist and towel service. Clean locker rooms and showers. Plenty of parking. This facility has room to host events like gymnastics competitions. Highly recommended.
