Powered by GoogleMy son has been studying at the school from age 4 until high school. He took private violin lessons, did chamber music and went through all the orchestras over the years. The teachers are very professional and good. The staff are good at communication and very helpful. We really enjoyed our time at the music school.
An exceptional community of learners and practitioners, and a truly bright point for music education in southern New England. Dedicated and talented faculty, wonderful staff, and a space for family community- building.
Awesome establishment with something for every musician, with amazing staff and teachers!
Wonderful facilities, and excellent staff all around! As a long time Rhode Island native, the school has done a wonderful job giving back to the community with a variety of programs for students of all ages, and the teaching staff and matching process is conducted with care. For any Rhode Island natives, or folks willing to commute, this is a fantastic option. An excellent example of their commitment to a positive learning environment is their clarity towards experience level for ensembles. As an educator myself, ensembles are a sensitive experience, and thus important for students to know the requirements in advance for a cohesive experience. RI Phil delineates clear and achievable requirements for students to participate in group work. This ensures the student is confident in their pursuit, and everyone is on the same page capability wise; moreover, the coach is beholden to the requirements as well when selecting music.
Our 4 children love their time at Rhode Island Phil taking private lessons and participating in the orchestras and chamber ensembles. The environment is so positive and encouraging and the staff are helpful and welcoming. Our music education standards have been raised in the last year and our children are thriving with their instruments playing viola, cello, and violin. We highly recommend the teachers and conductors here and know them as gifted professionals but also as talented individuals that love working with children. We are blessed to be a part of this community.
