Beautiful turf soccer field. Very nice and pretty sizable playground (suitable for ages 4-10). Parking in the neighborhood is pretty easy, especially on the weekends. Short jogging track around the perimeter of the turf field.

Great rec center in Petworth. The fitness center is pretty good, though missing a handful of weights. Good enough for a quick strength workout or elliptical (particularly if it’s too hot outside in the DC summer). The staff and front desk folks are fantastic. Highly recommend the very affordable DC parks and rec fitness programs, several of which meet at Raymond (spin, body flex, etc.)

Great facility, with lots of new modern spaces. Staff is friendly, although they are terrible at communicating cancellations to their members. We have learned to call every time we visit, so we don't make an unnecessary trip.

Near the Metro and many restaurants, bars, and shops along Georgia Avenue NW is a recreation center run by the city. Park for free along the street and walk into a large outdoor space with a field surrounded by rowhouses and a playground with two areas with equipment. My five-year-old daughter loved the playground, especially the climbing ropes. If you go, note that there's barely any shade so plan accordingly. We got so hot visiting in August that we left after 30 minutes.

During the week is the best time to use the track. If you are lucky, you get to have the field to yourself except for a couple of runners popping in. During the weekends the centre is a little Crowded with everything from tennis players, runners, soccer and football players. This place also has a kids play area.
