Ravenswood Music Academy runs week-long summer music camps in which kids form a rock band, try singing, guitar, ukulele, piano and drums, and learn a few songs together. In “Rock and Record” the band works with Mystery Street Recording Company on real recording equipment and parents go home with a professional recording; in “Rock and Reimagine” campers also invent a band name, hand-dye T-shirts, screen-print posters and design a logo with a mixed-media artist before a Friday performance for families. Each camp offers a half day (9:00am–12:00pm) or a full day (9:00am–3:00pm) at the academy’s Lawrence Avenue location, and spots are limited.
