Awesome DIY wedding venue! We rented the camp Friday-Sunday and had full access to cabins (most guests stayed onsite), kitchen, lodges, and other spaces around camp. We chose to host our Rehearsal Dinner at the Hacienda and a campfire welcome event at the Council Ring on Friday night. On Saturday we hosted a wedding olympics in the morning, then our ceremony on the Main Field and reception under a tent at Fort Mackinac. On Saturday and Sunday mornings, we cooked/served breakfast and lunch to our group in the Thunderbird Lodge using the main kitchen. The Puh’tok staff were very helpful in answering our questions leading up to the wedding, but I will note that there’s nobody onsite weekend-of so you definitely need to be organized and have a lot of help to ensure things run smoothly. It was a bonus from our perspective to be able to use the space in the way that we wanted and to bring our own food/drink to keep costs down. It’s also probably expected but worth noting that the beds are twin bunks and old/squeaky mattresses, so we were sure to be very clear with folks about the cabin setups, provide ear plugs, etc. Overall this venue allowed us to have the fully immersive wedding weekend that we wanted (and push some people outside their comfort zones for their first camp experiences!). We would not have wanted it any other way and encourage any Type A couple to take full advantage.

My husband and I loved our wedding here at Camp Puh'tok! When looking for a wedding venue - our google search was "spend the night camp wedding venues" - This place popped up and we went on a tour. The day we had the tour we booked (thank you to the director for giving us permission to have our wedding on the last weekend possible)! Communication with Liz was flawless. Any question we had, she answered for us. Their zipline team was the highlight of our Friday night! Guest that joined us on site enjoyed the "glamping" and not having to uber/shuttle. You can do just about any set up here. We had our rehearsal dinner at the hacienda, the ceremony in the field, cocktail hour on the concrete patio, the reception in the lodge, and our after party at the ceremony circle. I chose to get ready in the hacienda and my husband at the fort, the pictures turned out wonderfully. it is a fairly large property, so if you decide to have a wedding here, we recommend having a golf cart for easy transportation between areas.

My daughter loves day camp! The activities that are available for the campers is what I mainly like. There are numerous other things that I like as well, such as how great and friendly the counselors are and the ability of the campers to to experience multiple activities, such as archery, horseback riding, ropes course, swimming, skeet shooting, and much more. We are excited to return next summer and our son will be attending camp as well!

Incredibly beautiful space for a wedding. We rented the camp for Friday-Sunday and had access to cabins, multiple venue spaces, bonfire areas, etc. The full kitchen with walk-in refrigerator and freezer was *amazing*. The Puh'tok staff were great to work with leading up to our wedding weekend. Cannot recommend highly enough for anyone looking for an outdoor wedding!

When my husband and I were envisioning out wedding, we wanted to have a 3-day weekend wedding in the outdoors. Thankfully, Camp Puh'tok came highly recommended by two friends and when we saw it for the first time, we fell in love. It's extremely popular, so we booked it for more than a year ahead, but that just meant we had more time to save money and plan our weekend wedding festivities. Lindsay and Chris were both amazing to work with. We had about a million questions (more and more as the wedding date was fast approaching), but Lindsay and Chris were quick to respond via email. The camp ground is the perfect setting for a DIY weekend wedding since it's truly a blank slate. They don't have any vendor requirements, which helped us work within our budget. We invited our guests to stay at the cabin, which even in November, everyone was super warm and cozy. We paid extra to have archery and zipline activities the morning of the wedding. The camp staff were friendly and knowledgable and made sure all of our guests (including us) were safe and had a blast! We took advantage of the fire rings and had a huge bonfire Friday and Saturday night, which the camp staff helped supply the wood. We used the council ring with it's built in seating for our ceremony and used the tables and chairs already supplied for our reception and meals throughout the weekend. All and all, we are so impressed with camp puh'tok and cannot recommend it enough. It was truly the perfect location for us and our guests to let go of responsibilities and to relax in the outdoors. If you are looking for a laid-back wedding location that is perfectly nestled in the wood for you to design your DIY wedding, then Camp Puh'Tok is your venue.
