Port Washington Yacht Club runs a tiered set of junior programs on Manhasset Bay: Guppies for kindergarten through 2nd grade, Junior Sailing for grades 3-8, a Race Team for ages 8-16, Adventure Sailing, and a Big Boat program for ages 14 and up. Junior Sailing runs Monday through Friday from 9:30 to 5:00 and follows an eight-week sailing curriculum with three hours of on-water instruction daily. Programs are grouped by age and grade so beginners and racers train separately.
