Camp serves ages 3-13 from late June through late August, grouping children by age (roughly 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12) and covering jazz, ballet, hip hop plus musical theatre and acting classes, with visual-art projects led by professional artists and scheduled snack and rest breaks. No prior dance experience is required, and the studio runs a Pay It Forward fund that supports students facing financial hardship.

It was actually my very first ballet class, so I was definitely nervous walking in, but Maggie created such a welcoming, supportive, and encouraging environment from the start. She was incredibly kind and patient, and I really appreciated her hands-on corrections because they helped me better understand the movements and feel more confident throughout class. As an adult beginner, I never felt intimidated or out of place. The atmosphere was so warm and positive, and you could tell she genuinely wanted everyone to succeed and enjoy themselves. I seriously could not stop talking about how great the experience was afterward — all my friends kept asking when Maggie is teaching next because of how much I was raving about the class! We’re all keeping our eyes open for when she’s back on the schedule. Highly recommend taking her class if you get the chance!

★★Grace OI have 1-2 years of dance experience and their beginner contemporary workshop was too fast-paced. I don’t see the point why they call it “beginner” when it is more akin to “beginner advanced.” Which they have a different class for. Teacher also called me out during class when I was discreetly trying to ask a student if I was in the correct class. And didn’t appreciate being split into groups of two to dance with barely any instruction prior as to the moves we were doing.
