Attempted to go to this location today with my 2 year old who loves art. We live about 30 minutes away so we left an hour prior to class starting. There was STILL traffic due to street closures and we ended up being 15 minutes late. I intended to pay cash in person as per the website stated we can. Upon arrival, the instructor told us we cannot stay. My toddler was extremely disappointed, as was I. There is no late policy or information stated on the website that after a certain time you cannot attend. I will never attempt to come to this location again. Caregivers- beware if you are ever running late with a TODDLER EDIT- There is no way to respond to the owner and instead of leaving another 1 star review, I’ll edit my original response. The owner stated that the class was at capacity. Verbatim, the instructor said “the class already started and I am not prepared to take another student,” which does not equate to a full class. Why offer a cash option with no way to reserve a seat beforehand? My toddler still loves Playday but if you are considering Playday, try the Park Slope location- Cathy is great!

I had very high expectations of Play Day Cobble Hill, given how highly it is spoken of. I was genuinely excited to host my daughter’s 8th birthday party at your location. Unfortunately, while the planning stages went smoothly, the actual day of the party was a disaster before it even began. On the day of the event, it had snowed prior to the party start time. The area directly in front of Play Day was covered in snow and ice, with no cleared or safe path for guests to enter the establishment. This posed an immediate safety concern for children and adults alike. Upon entering the space, the temperature inside was extremely cold—approximately 25 degrees. The wall-mounted heating/AC units displayed a temperature of 86 degrees but were not blowing any air. I raised this concern with the on-site staff, whose names were never provided despite their role as party attendants. I also spoke with an unidentified female manager over the phone. Eventually, two space heaters were brought out from a closet. I was explicitly promised that additional heaters would arrive within 45 minutes. This conversation occurred around 2:50 PM, and our party lasted three hours. No additional heaters ever arrived. At best, the temperature rose to approximately 37 degrees. All guests—including children—were forced to keep their winter coats on throughout the party, and no one was ever comfortable. In addition to the temperature issues, the party itself lacked structure and guidance. There was no clear flow between activities. Staff stood by without directing the children, and I had to repeatedly ask them to move the group along so all three activities could be completed. Unfortunately, not all children were able to complete all three activities—including the birthday girl. Overall, this was an extremely disappointing experience and far below the standard I expected from an establishment with your reputation. This was meant to be a special celebration for my child, and instead it was stressful, uncomfortable, and poorly managed. I would appreciate a response addressing these concerns and explaining how this situation will be rectified.

Such a great place for kids who like to make art! My kid has gone for a number of school holidays and had an amazing time and learned alot. Its a beautiful space and most of all Ren is a gifted teaching artist who always coming up great projects and encouraging the kids to explore .

My daughter and I started coming to Playday when she was 15 months old. This is a warm, creative, free environment that I found especially cool for toddlers. Maddy and Ren made each class engaging and original and they let the kids go for activities that interest them and draw their attention. We still have the collage she made the first week on our wall. Love Playday Cobble Hill!

HIGHLY recommend, can’t stress it enough how nice the staff is. We have a love for Maddy (the manager). I’m a nanny for my friends and I’ve been taking their daughter here since she was 2 (now she’s 4). Now she’s in school and we still come for after school programs. The environment is amazing, they give kids a place to be free and artistic.
