Heaven on earth! The Platte County Community Center South creates a community and atmosphere that brings people together and allows people the opportunity to reach their fitness goals and meet new friends along the way. The Wellness Coaches are very friendly and knowledgeable on all the equipment that they have. They teach you how to use everything as part of your membership. They have a wide variety of programs, a huge variety of machines, New free weights, pool with lap lanes and fun for the kids, sauna, steam room, track upstairs, studios, a conference room, basketball court, showers, classes, etc. I've been with them since 2006 and don't plan on leaving. I would highly recommend checking it out with a free trial membership. It's the best gym hands down. I couldn't ask for more! They reupholstered all their benches and they just put brand new rubber flooring in the entire two story gym. They got all the newest Precor equipment and replaced it with the old equipment! New Hammer Strength squat racks. They will still be getting a few more machines, but it looks great! They moved things around and the new dumbbell area is a little small, but change always takes getting used to. It's looks amazing though!

I received kindness. laughter. and inclusion from the Game Room Mahjongg table. In this climate I never know what to expect when participating in group activities with complete strangers, but here the women were fun, only the game was complicated!

We stooped in on a day pass for the pool. The paperwork process and payment was a bit daunting and time consuming for the manual entry. We were disappointed the slide was no longer. Overall, everyone was so nice and friendly. Vicky behind the counter was the best. The steam room was fantastic, the shower/rinse in the pool area was great. The lifeguard staff is a class act. The way they rotate and check the steam and sauna rooms was noticed and I told them they were seen and appreciated. They held to their swim test rules with the kids and were never mean about it. Thank you for the great experience, we wish we lived closer to a Y!

Joining the Y was easy and stress-free. My coach, Melissa, is awesome! She provided a very detailed orientation and walked me through all the equipment, classes, and training opportunities. She was so helpful and patient in assuring me that I don't have to be shy about working out, as everyone is supportive and non-judgmental. I've never belonged to a gym before, so this is new for me, and I have to say I'm encouraged by the wide range of opportunities to improve mind, body, and spirit.

This is the nicest community center I've been to. I'm a swimmer and there are two lap areas. There is a play pool for kids, a lazy river, hot tub, steam room and sauna. They have tons of equipment along with a gym and a track. Great place!
