Pittsburgh CLO Academy of Musical Theater
Private
The Pittsburgh CLO Academy of Musical Theater runs one- and two-week summer musical-theater camps for children and teens ages 3-18, held downtown at the CLO Academy and at the South Park Amphitheater. Campers work with a professional director, music director and choreographer, and select camps end in a final performance. Operated by Pittsburgh CLO, a nonprofit theater company.

Powered by GoogleMy daughter started the academy last year and it has been great. The instructors continue to build her confidence and knowledge in theater, dance, and voice. She looks forward to classes every week. I cannot express how impressed I am by the CLO Academy.
My 7 year old daughter is about to finish her 1st year with the Academy. I can't express how Wonderful this program is! Her teacher is so kind but very professional and knowledgeable. We are not from Pittsburgh, but I feel it is worth the 45-50 min drive for this level of education
Performer, actor, singer, and dancer with the Pittsburgh CLO Academy of Musical Theatre from 2014 to 2017. Given the abundance of exceptional opportunities in the performing arts and the guidance of highly qualified and experienced performers, my experience was both enriching and invaluable. I am immensely grateful for my time at the Pittsburgh CLO Academy and express my sincere desire to return and perform once again with the Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera House.
My daughter has been enrolled at CLO Academy for 6 years. They do an amazing job of teaching dance, acting, and voice. The skills my child has learned will help her in whatever career she chooses. She also said when she started, "I found my people." And she still feels that way 6 years later.
I don't know who the people are who say that the Pittsburgh CLO is trash, but they are totally wrong. The summer camps are great, and the teachers always encourage you to go out of your comfort zone to accomplish great things. The teachers really care and instruct you accordingly to how you would need to appear in an audition. The Pittsburgh CLO Academy is the best thing that ever happened to me, and I'm sure that everyone who actually appreciates musical theater thinks the same way. Special thanks to all my teachers. CLO helped me make friends, which I was never able to do at school. Thanks CLO!
