ACT ONE Theatre School has offered theater training to Pittsburgh area students since 1986, with school-year programs and a summer camp for kindergarten through 12th grade at venues in Wexford, Etna and Glenshaw. Kindergarten and first-grade students meet on Saturdays in 10-week fall and winter/spring sessions, and the 2nd-8th grade program moves from weekly fall classes in acting, voice, dance, improvisation, audition skills and acting for film to winter/spring rehearsals for a fully produced musical in which every student is cast. High school students meet on Saturdays and work toward a February production at The New Hazlett Theater. The summer camp runs separate sessions for grades K-1, 2-4 and 5-12, and the 5th-12th grade session meets weekdays from 9am to 4pm and ends in a final production in which every student has a featured role.
