International Summer Dance is Point Park University's long-running summer dance intensive in downtown Pittsburgh, drawing students, teachers and musicians from around the world. The curriculum is daily technique in ballet, jazz and modern, supplemented by pointe and variations, male technique, pas de deux, tap, music for dancers, Pilates and yoga. Students choose two-, three- or six-week sessions; only six-week students perform in the fully produced final show. Commuter and residential options are offered, with on-campus housing limited to students at least 14 years old, and attendees may audition for the university's Conservatory of Performing Arts.
